Re: Prop 8 for California

Thu Nov 6, 2008, 9:53 PM
The insecurity, the intolerance, and the insatiable need for control of homophobic/"religious" citizens of that state is truly disturbing.

I live in connecticut, a state that just recently passed the law legalizing LGBT marriages. And not even a month later, question 1 on our voters ballots would have had the same affect as prop 8 had it been passed. Blessed goddess it did not. My state seems to have some sense in it and the vote no overturned it. I grimace at the very thought that, had they voted yes I would have lost my right to marry the *future* woman I love.

It's almost like a death, the loss of that right. A death that many in that state, including you, will mourn and hurt for. Truly those bigots that voted yes will realize, hopefully not too late but even so possibly too late, that they have ruined the lives of someone they themselves call a "loved one".

To those of you affected most by the passing of this law:

I may not feel your pain, but I mourn for you the loss of such a beautiful right. But realize this, with hope and time even those bigots will be silenced letting your voice and all those in the LGBT californian commuinity ring true.
